“Today, I spoke with a nice person, Keesha Williams, who used to be in educational sales and now oversees charter schools. She said that large districts probably would be interested in utilizing K-12 Connect’s resources and they may even pay us for such consulting services.”

Everyone Has the Potential to be "At-Risk"

I found this quote on an educational website.

As Ianni (1993) reports, "The problem for those at greatest risk is that the factors are often interconnected, combining and reinforcing each other with devastating effects on the life course....Even when the risks in one area are reduced, the lack of progress in another may render that success meaningless" (p. 29).

Now that is a powerful statement. As someone who taught for 3 years in a charter school, the truthfulness of that statement hits home. There are so many factors that impact a child's education. I have seen so many with so much potential, but lack the means of rising above even the smallest obstacles. They lack the support or the services to help them.
The goal of non-profit consulting is one I admire, and I feel that it could have a great impact on schools. More importantly, I feel the benefit for individual students could be phenomenal.

Anyone heard of K-12 Nonprofit consultants? I am researching a possible nonprofit concept. The organization would work with a school to identify their most prevelant problems and connect the school with the best nonprofit organization which could meet their needs. The more input provided during the research phases of this project, the better.
